Always safe with Lightning Alarm. You will be notified if a thunderstorm is in your area. The lightning detection is very accurate and the (automated) notifications are essential for safe outdoor activities.
At a glance you can see the nearest lightning. Displayed on the map and in text, you see the current distance from the thunderstorm to your location. You can even set up a push message, notifying you for approaching storms.
This App is unique and a must for your safety during outdoor activities. The information is based on the detection network of Meteoplaza.com. With this network 98% of all lightning discharges are detected, resulting in a high quality of the warnings!

Useful for spot
Seems to work pretty accurately and very useful for sport in terms of knowing when to get off of a field. Could maybe have a few more features and slightly improved UI as well as notifications options but perhaps simple is best.

Suggestion
I started using the app when my children were swimming. I soon became hooked and am now looking a general rain patterns worldwide and learning so much.
Would it be possible to put a legend for the different colours used to denote rain intensity somewhere on the app - maybe in the bow to use section or settings so we can be better informed as to how much and hard the rain will be. Many thanks.

My whole family loves the app my only complaint is that when you zoom in it says lightning is at 300km and when I zoom back out it changes back to 10km.

I really wish I could give it more stars….
The thing is, this app is super glitchy and I have an above average device so I can’t blame that. As someone who does sport during most hours of the day I have to see how far away the lightning is for my safety. This app is not reliable as it always glitches and is always telling me the wrong thing. I wish the developers can fix this in the future.

Amazing helpful for outdoor sports

Flash distance changes depending on zoom level
Excellent app. Love it. however the lightning flash distance changes depending on the zoom of the map. If you zoom out to say 300km the flash distances increase to 11km while when you zoom in below 10km level the flash distance drops to 4km.

Does it work?
I grew up in high lightning concentration areas but now live in a region with almost none. First real thunderstorm last night in ages. More or less none of the lightning appeared on the app.

Great App!
I use this app to manage my dog’s severe reaction to lightning and it’s been a great help. I recommend this to anyone whose dog stresses with thunderstorms.
Feedback: It would be great if it could tell in which direction the lightning is going, so that I can know if the storm will be long.

Great app but it automatically defaults to Antwerp as a location. You can add and remove other locations but not Antwerp.
