I have used loads of weather apps and can confidently say that none of them come close to constantly being spot on with the forecast as well as current weather conditions. I work at a mountain guide so I need to know exactly what the weather will be doing in advance. I encourage others in Cape Town to use this app.

Windy experience
I examine the synoptic chart every morning to ascertain the wind direction and subsequent weather patterns. This gives me an excellent indication of what weather to expect. My self challenge is to see if my forecast of today is correct and subsequentl changes occur the next day.

Real-time updates
We had a few storms in Cape Town and the Windy app could keep me informed regularly , due to table mountain the weather changes depending on which side of the mountain you living. This app was helpful in me navigating myself through the storm ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great but….PLEASE FIX
This is my go to app for all things weather.
Amazing interface, data points are truly top notch. Two issues:
1. Historical data for one day prior. The slider shouldn’t just stop at the current day. I want to see yesterday because this helps make some predictions that an app can’t do.
The next problem has been bugging me for some time.
2. The app keeps logging my out of my account. And the. My widgets are these big red tiles that say I must log in. I have to login twice for some odd reason. I log in using Google if that’s any help. Please fix this it’s starting to annoy me.

I have found windy weather forecast comprehensive and gives detailed weather for the area that concerns me. Would have been great if there was a selectable notification for a severe condition that was coming even if was 1 hour before.

I used to rely on Windy but lately it has let me down twice in a row. I would be checking the weather for a week and everything stays the same but on the day i need to rely on it, it all changes and its to late for me as ive already made a decision to be at a venue. I know weather changes within an hour but like i said it used to be accurate, not sure why the change… will still keep on using it and other apps

Best wind waves and storm app
I use Windy for our sailing school, for our yacht club and NSRI sea rescue as a great planning tool for weather forecasting. It shows everything from barometric pressure to wave height, wind gusts, rain and lightning. World view is useful to show how storms move and the Coriolis effect of the earth’s rotation.

This is without a doubt the best weather app I have used. Very detailed information presented clearly and the forecast is most reliable. Being able to put up aviation data is particularly useful to me as I fly a lot in the Cape Town area.
I also spend a lot of time outdoors so knowing what’s coming is great.

Don’t go out without it
I’ve been learning to sail in the coastal waters around Cape Town and learned how quickly the weather can change, especially the wind.
Windy does a great job at giving accurate and timely forecasts.
