I can’t login, it keeps saying that I’m an “unknown user, please register account first” and when I try to register it still doesn’t want to log me in with the new password, it’s not even worth 1 star! Bring back the old app

Worst I’ve ever seen
In this day and age you’d expect an app that is much more easier to use and looks like a real app. This one looks like a certain webpage that is still under construction. I hate that I’m paying for a tracker that can’t even give me the simple option to put my car on parking mode. A tracker that doesn’t even call or notify you if your vehicle is moving in an unfamiliar location. I tried cancelling it they told me if I want to remove the unit I have to pay R2000.00 like What the hell man. I feel like am paying for nothing every month honestly. I want this gone so bad.

I am a unsatisfied Netstar client, I have been paying a subscription fee to their services but I just recently discovered that their tacking device has been off since the 29th of June 2025. Yesterday, they sent in their technician, still the tracking device is not working. I have tried the panic button and there is no response whatsoever.

It never has any accurate location. My car has been parked since last but the app says I’m on a freeway travelling 110k🤡. When it finally says it’s parked, it’s always more that 3km from the actual location. It’s clearly my car can never be recovered should it be stolen. Sad part is I’m stuck with it for the next 3years

App does what it needs to do. Couldn’t understand why people are rating it so low. It updates location as soon as you park. Less than 10 seconds even. I setup alerts to let me know when the ignition is on and when I’m moving. It updates my trips as soon as I complete it. Happy with what it needs to do for my peace of mind.

Please update notifications for alerts to be time sensitive. The whole point of these alerts is so that they’re delivered immediately, however, most alerts don’t send notifications or show them late (under settings there is no way to classify these notifications as time sensitive since the app doesn’t flag any of its notifications as time sensitive)

The app works after fitment but a few days later your trip data, general vehicle data and location is either way off or non-existent. Fortunately you can still use the online website to track and use all features but you’d imagine that doesn’t track real time.

The App is easy to navigate and I actually enjoy using the Home Screen. Love the shortcuts! I would like to make a recommendation though. Please enhance the Logbook functionality. I want to manage my business travel easier.

I would just like to place on record my disappointment at Netstar contacted me this morning and spoke me through the companion app and then attempted to link me automatically whilst on the telephone for a fee of R69 per month. I was told that I could go onto the app and review it and test it then in the same breath, I was told that I would be charged a monthly fee starting immediately which I declined. Please can you stop advertising in this manner and give your clients the opportunity to decide if they want to use this facility or not.

The new app is good and all but missing the importance of the app. Remove the emergency contact tap and and us a big Center panic button for fast reaction when we see something uncomfortable or in a bad situation.

Incorrect information send to me
I frequently receive incorrect warning information and incorrect debit order dates and amounts for VW Amarok with registration number. It is disturbing to say the least and I wonder who is being provided with my car data. Please do data cleanups and contact your clients randomly to verify the information.

New app but less helpful
The new app looks great and very updated with the tiles. But you have lost all the great features of the previous version. I need pin points , I need accurate-quick checking with out needing to download or mail sheet that I have to go through line by line. The feature you had were you select the date and could se exactly the root traveled where the vehicle stopped and for how long before moving was great for checking up that time is not being wasted between jobs on my technician. Now you can only check that on the Pc version. Having this on my phone made it easier to do this check anywhere anytime. Please I have loved the service from moving over to Netstar from other providers but stay focused on what works before just dropping out features.

New app version is doing well
The upgraded app has a much better UI/UX. Something to note: if you trickle charge your car battery, the tracker records it as a trip. So your daily driving numbers (time & distance) will be off (i.e much higher that reality) because of the phantom trips the device thinks you’re taking. FYI

I can’t back track trips as the previous app could load even up to last years trips records
I can’t check on the app the speed of which the driver is moving during the trip to inform a client that the driver was not speeding if allegations are being made
I could stay logged in on the old app now I have to login in multiple times and very slow on indicating where about the vehicle is located
So I feel that the old app was better even my wife that is part of the transport company is saying rather cancel with Netstar but hopefully this reaches someone that can do something and keep me on as a loyal and happy client

Do not recommend Netstar, apart from their awful customer service, which only gives you an automated message but you will wait for days for feedback, their new app on the phone is terrible and not accurate. My app tells me the driver is still at home, when I go on the internet he is in the city! Then it gives me false indications of the status, for instance it tells me the vehicle is moving without the ignition being on. I call driver in a panic, only to tell me that vehicle is safely in garage!

Old App was much better
Your new app is so disappointing. Any chance we can opt to use the old app still. It allowed us to easily select a vehicle. The whole days trips were in one list, we could select to view a trip replay and click on individual dots on the route to see vehicles speed in an area, eg school zone, an area known for terrible potholes where driver should reduce speed. Yes trip can download in a document but for quick driver monitoring on my phone while drinking my coffee, the old app with its map features was a hundred times more practical and useful

Downloaded the app to download the proof of tracking device for my insurance and the app does not download any documents. You can see where you are supposed to download but it doesn’t do the work. Also my car is located at our Nearby shopping centre however I am looking at it in my yard. Not so accurate

The new app looks great. Not a fan of the new circle pinpoint that shows you the location of the vehicle. Difficult to see accurately where the location is but that will just take getting used to.
Please could you check that the trip download icons work. I couldn't download the pdf or xls. I rely on this to submit my work travels. Keep up the good work dev team.

Installed this in my car and it was never worked since day one giving wrong locations they couldn’t even figure it out when I calling them keep saying they’re refreshing it , next thing they will send a technician, called 4 times each time they send a reference and but never the technician they speak loudly about, I doubt they they even have technical expertise when they install fake machines that don’t work

DO NOT TRUST THEM AT ALL!!!
We installed this nonsense thinking that it would be better for us because we employed someone to drive our bakkie. When we want to locate him or to see where is the car, we struggled. The App will show us a location, when we get there, the car isn’t there. We kept on refreshing the app however we stil couldn’t locate the car until we called NETSTAR.
This is a waste of money and we are removing it from our car. We do not want any explanation or be convinced to keep it. The other my son took the car without permission, when we look at the APP, it says the car is where we were but that was not case.

Data displayed in the app
In overall the UI of the app makes sense the only downfall I found is with the data being represented in the app , it’s always inconsistent from the trios details, reading the car odometer kms is always in 0km etc it’s a whole mess on another level.
The application architecture, data engineer ,software engineer and business owner needs to resolve that issue as soon as possible before they loose clients based on the bad user experience of the app.

The app does not load at all
This app is great in theory but a mess to actually use, I've struggle to log in, your registration email sent by the dealership your buying through-make sure to use the exact upper and lower case letters they used for your email.
Once I eventually signed into the app it seems that the app does not load at all and hasn't load yet either, very disappointed with this app and it was such a beneficial deal although a bit pricey and to now find the app is bearly functional is very disappointing.

Half baked
Not useful unless you sign up for extra paid options that were previously free albeit not through the app. Documents like certificates and logbooks are not loaded. Vehicle details and primary driver details for multiple vehicles either are not loaded or cannot be loaded. Can be useful if existing premium contract options are also available on the app rather than needing to pay again
