Disappointing

Frequently offers only American spellings of English words, which is wrong. If you spell a word in the correct original English way, it can’t find it. For that reason, I have deleted the app and now use the Oxford Dictionary of English, which is much better

App Doesn’t Work Anymore

The app no longer works. Whenever searching for a word it never finds the definition. Also paid for the app and all of a sudden I’m seeing ads. Neither a warning nor a refund was given. Deleting the app.

Adverts on purchased App

I purchased the app (Power Pack) instead of using the free app to remove advertisements. However, the ads are appearing and really irritating me. Please advise.

DISAPPOINTED IN YOUR TEAM

Why did you update the dictionary, I bought encyclopedia, offline and all the extra things that made dictionary.com nice. But now I’m disappointed. Can there be a refund for this lousy update

What happened?

This app was a brilliant resource for me as an online ESL tutor, that is until it stopped working at the end of November 2024. Now it’s very slow to search a word and will say “no results found” at the end of the search. I really hope they will fix the problems with an update soon.

Too bad

I’ve been using this app (free version) for a number of years and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately it’s been giving me issues lately, even after uninstalling and reinstalling. I can’t view the definitions in word of the day feature from my phone but it works on my watch. And a times the app failed to find a definition of a word even if it has auto-suggested the word from the search bar. After many years, probably over a decade, I’ve decided to uninstall and opt for another dictionary app. Please fix in the meantime

Best teacher

One Nitpick, but otherwise, gets the Job Done

First off, great app. Well done, developers. However, I believe the app would benefit greatly if users could provide custom words or definitions (for existing words) for their word lists. In some situations, I find myself wishing to study certain words that either do not appear in the dictionary due to their niche nature, or their available definitions don’t quite match the pragmatics of how I wish to use them.

Problem

I have been using the dictionary for a few years but since the last update it just will not open on my phone!

I have deleted it three times an reloaded but you click on the app and it comes up as if it is going to open but then just shrinks back to the app on the phone. What is wrong with it?

This is really a very helpful app. Especially when English is not your first language.

I would just like to suggest that the voice used to pronounce words be changed to an English speaking person. The American voice sounds very odd and not right.

Great but...could....

Great app, but you could update by making this app like the app google mobile that you say the words by voice instead of typing. this would be a great feature which will take you know time with your team of experts.

Too many words without descriptions!!

I fail to understand why o tell so many words have no desription?? surely a dictionary is supposed to tell me what a word means and & not merely to provide the 5 different pronounciations of the word!!!!!!! look up any of the following words...halacha, halachah, halachahs, halachist, halachos....not a single description for ANY of them??? ridiculous!

This I by far the most used utility only iPhone right now. But it is so slow! The performance makes one think twice about whether or not to switch to it.
