Description
Google Authenticator adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts by adding a second step of verification when you sign in. This means that in addition to your password, you'll also need to enter a code that is generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone.
The verification code can be generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone, even if you don't have a network or mobile connection.
• Sync your Authenticator codes to your Google Account and across your devices. This way, you can always access them even if you lose your phone.
• Set up your Authenticator accounts automatically with a QR code. This is quick and easy, and it helps to ensure that your codes are set up correctly.
• Support for multiple accounts. You can use the authenticator app to manage multiple accounts, so you don't have to switch between apps every time you need to sign in.
• Support for time-based and counter-based code generation. You can choose the type of code generation that best suits your needs.

Not user friendly - pathetic
The app has logged me out of everything after I switched phones. I’m not able to access my accounts now (especially Meta which I need for work). There is a ‘key’ they want me to use but I cannot find this key to recover my accounts - it was never emailed to me. I absolutely hate this am. As soon as I get access to my accounts I will be describing 2FA for this pathetic app.

Upon scanning the QR code, it continually gives me a type of pie chart that downloads in blue & then changes to red when almost done. This process however continues & doesn’t stop ‘downloading’ so it never completes this section for me to move on to the next. Extremely time consuming & annoying

Great app, but the Authy app by Twilio resets the auth codes whenever you open the app, avoiding the situation where you have ten seconds (or less) to remember and input a code, like a stressed SWAT team member diffusing a bomb.

SHOCKINGLY BAD!
All the negative reviews are true… if u change handsets, or have to have it replaced, you lose access to all the accounts. If u download the app on a new device, none of your history is connected to your number or login. I had to communicate to a crypto app to have them remove it on my account their side so i cld access my funds.

The app worked perfectly fine for the past few months, but this afternoon the codes were all removed and I couldn’t log into my systems, the app asked me to set it up again.

The worst development by Google BY FAR! The fact that this app is not linked to your gmail is baffling! Now I’ve lost my account because I changed phones, in 2021?! Why couldn’t the transfer of data include the codes?! No one knew you actually needed to keep the codes or lose everything if you lose a phone. Do better or delete the app. It’s appalling.

When google fails you...
Please fire whoever designed this app. It should be connected to your google account and cellphone number. But it’s not. So my phone was stolen and now I can’t access any of my accounts. It completely failed at what it set out to do in the first place.

I would not recommend this app to anyone. If you lose your phone, you lose all your codes. You need to have all your keys backed up somewhere else.

Crashes on iOS 14.2 (fixed by reinstall, but App is outdated)
Can’t open App on iPhone Xs iOS 14.2.
Will rate again once it’s fixed.
UPDATE: Managed to fix it by deleting and reinstalling the App. But it’s concerning that it’s not been updated in 2 years. Microsoft’s Authenticator App was updated 3 weeks ago, also supports Apple Watch and has average 4.8 rating. For a security App I require more from company like yours that I use for business. I’ll check back here in 2 weeks and decide if I’m rather moving my Authenticator needs over to Microsoft.

The app works well on my end but gets cluttered with accounts very quickly. Especially if you’re security conscious and use it for more than just your email account.

Hello. My authenticator doesn’t seem to be working. I’ve tried synching it by turning off automatic time and date and turning it on again. I’m locked out of my Luno account as well as my Bittrex account and I really need to access it. Please assist me. The 1 star rating will immediately be changed to 5 if my issue is resolved. Losing codes
When you get a new phone or lost your phone then you can’t easily carry over all the accounts to the new phone or from a phone backup... so many people lose their codes and also need to manually put each one over to a new phone.
