Terrible service

I have several bank accounts with FNB. I pay stupid amounts of money monthly to use these accounts.
When I see duplicate debits going off and duplicate reference numbers - I get concerned about fraud.
I call this company, and sit through 500 generic ai prompts to the point where it wasted R110 airtime.
I go to secure chat to get on my hands and knees to beg for a human being to call me, and I get told no.

Login issues

Ever since opening an FNB account I have not been able to login to the app (RMB too). In branch staff and call centre staff cannot help resolve the issue. I was just told it’s a common issue with iPhones. Which is pathetic excuse don’t you have qualified IT staff? Why are you the only bank in SA with this issue.

Electricity Purchase UX

I use the app regularly and although I have become accustomed to it (after a steep learning curve), I find certain features and UX incredibly frustrating. Today the JTBD I will focus on is ‘Purchasing Electricity’. 1) Currently, I cannot purchase electricity as the error message states that the 3rd party vendor is done. As a user, I would appreciate it if you offer me an alternative solution while the issues are being addressed, and give an ETR. 2) I purchase electricity for more than 1 household. Currently, the app does not save your meter numbers, which means that I have to manually type it in. Also, the app doesn’t allow to copy the Meter numbers, which is odd. So I must either have the physical card with me, OR I have to write it down somewhere, like it’s 1999. Please pass this on to your product team and address.

Bad network

From the first day I used FNB connect I had and still had extreme network communication, both outgoing and incoming calls every one is complaining about the network, people don’t hear me on the end. I have exhausted all efforts at my disposal to call your call centre to seek assistance from your consultant, to this end I never got assistance. I was astounded by lack of knowledge, inept from most of the consultants which I spoke with. I got extremely frustrated because I am using my cell number as both private and business. . I then took the decision on the 16 May 2025 to call your call centre and request your consultant to cancel my subscription with FNB connect. To this day, I am still connected to FNB connect notwithstanding that I have cancel with you my subscription on the 16 May, I was never told the truth by your good for nothing consultants as to how long I will still be connected to this useless FNB connect after cancellation. All of them are incompetent and inept

Navigating this app

As a visually impaired person I have never struggled with navigating an app more than with this one app that is supposed to help me with managing my finances. There is no intuitive way of getting anywhere in the app, I find searching whatever you are looking for is the only way to get anywhere. Using the secure chat sometimes helps, that is if you are able to respond every 5 seconds otherwise the chat ends. Spending tracking and categorisation is not helpful, I can’t even view the rate of return on my tax-free. Thanks FNB, let me know how can I help you do better.

PLEASE FIX UNREAD MESSAGE COUNTER BUG

I’ve picked up a really annoying bug in the app after using the Secure Chat function to request assistance from an advisor. The unread message counter does not get reset, so it keeps showing that there are unread messages and there’s no “mark as read” option, so there’s no way to clear this. When I eventually forget about it, and check my phone later, the app icon shows I have unread notifications from the FNB app, when I go into the app to check the messages (thinking they’re inContact notifications for transactions), the unread message counter by Secure Chat is still there and I have no new notifications/messages.

Latest update missed the mark

Great app, I use it every other day!
However, the latest update of the app is not lekker - the search function is now worse.
If I search eWallet for example (something i do often), now I don’t get the eWallet functionality, I get links to FAQs, Videos, etc. Another example, I had more flexibility with the home screen previously - I could put eWallet on the home screen. Now to get to eWallet, I have to go Baking, Pay, Pay, eWallet… what a long route, eish.

Latest update causes scrolling bug in transaction list

There is this really frustrating bug now in the latest IOS update (18.1.1) for iPhone when scrolling through transactions. It jumps out of place when scrolling to view your transaction list. You’ll be looking at a transaction item and date when all of a sudden it jumps to another position either further or beforehand so you lose track of what you were trying to find and viewing. Very frustrating and not user friendly at all. This must be fixed asap.

FNB APP SUPPORT REVIEW

The FNB APP has been very good with customer support for 7 out of the 10 times I tried the support message portal. For complex issues i suggest going to a bank in person since you will only be handed around to the next person for a while on the app support portal. The same happens at the bank but it happens faster in person. For small details and questions, the app is surprisingly fast with responses from actual people. Not relying on a chatbot or at least not relying on a chatbot to handle questions that do not have yes or no answers is why I give FNB 5 stars

Pathetic

This bank is riding on an old reputation of being a South Africa digital leader but nothing can be further from the truth. The app’s UX is a decade or more behind (despite a recent attempt to polish the look & feel). Their onboarding process is broken - I’ve spent the last two days fighting my way through various tragic deficiencies and even though they sent me an initial message saying I’m “all set” I’m very far from it. Still can’t use my account and every time I contact them there is a new, previously uncomminicated requirement. I’ve opened accounts with a few banks in my time but this is *by far* the worst experience I’ve ever had. Don’t be fooled by the positive ratings. Not sure how they’ve managed to collect these because this bank is not worth the risk and the hours you will waste trying to navigate their pretend-digital, Byzantine processes. Avoid like the plague.

Can’t stop spam from FNB

I opted out of all marketing communications from FNB in the app some time ago, but I still get unsolicited marketing push notifications through the app and via email. I have reported this more than once through the secure chat in the app, but with no resolution. The most recent was yesterday and again today. Yesterday’s emailed response from the FNB Digital Support Desk was to disable marketing communications the app (which I had already done previously!). Today the advice from FNB was to post a suggestion to the developers through the app. FNB: you’re really not listening to the issue. And by the way, sending me such unsolicited marketing comms when I have opted out is illegal under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Confusing interface - ebucks portal especially confusing

The app is full of bugs.
The ebuck portal is particularly bad. I’ve spent ages on the phone to consultants and on the useless chat window trying to make sense of it. To be honest I think the uselessness of the ebucks portal is intentional and simply hides the fact that it’s a scam.
For example I have two FNB home loads but when I look at home loans under the ebucks reward tracking it indicates I get no point for them but will not link me to any actions or information about how to activate this. I have spoken both to ebucks and the home loans consultants and nobody can explain why this is the case- the two departments give conflicting information. I can only assume that the rewards are not real since nobody behind the scenes knows how they work

Fraudulent debit order dispute

These guys literally give permission/access to fraudulent nonexistent companies to send out debit order mandates to your app. They don’t screen companies to permit them to send out mandates. Like how does that even make sense. Obviously as the client I’ll think the company is legit if FNB, an international company, allowed them to send a debit order mandate to my App. Like it’s a field day for fraudsters out there. For such a big bank to no screen who can send out debit order mandates is really crazy.

Bank Statements

The app does not work properly. I’ve always viewed and downloaded my statements from this app and all of a sudden I can’t view any statements. From the Home Screen, I go to Statements, I click on my account and a message pops up - invalid request. There are no items to display. I click on Accounts, click on my bank account, then go to the Account Options tab. I click on Statement history and the same message comes up - invalid request. There are no items to display. This app is useless if I cannot view or download my statements like I previously did before. The point of having a banking app is the convenience of doing all your banking from your cellphone instead of the pc!

FRUSTRATED!

I used to love this app, but since switching to iPhone 15 Pro Max, it’s a nightmare! It takes multiple attempts to move from one screen to the next. I have to click over and over on the same spot before I eventually can progress to the next step. Often it kicks me out after multiple attempts. I haven’t even been able to access secure messaging, hence me voicing my frustration here. Is there a setting that needs to be changed on the device or the app? Please help!

Worst banking app EVER

Not user friendly at all. I don’t understand why icons have to be nicknamed, why not just use straight forward language. Or at least give user the option to change the nickname to their preferred name cause now I have to try and figure out which tab what I want might belong in.
Too much duplication of things. And I don’t get why the option to ‘buy’ is under the exact account. Things like buy and pay should be top of the easiest options to access. They should be the first options you meet when you open the app, standard.
Can someone please tell me where E-wallet is. I don’t know even today. I still have to use ‘search’ to find the e-wallet option!
You should be able to click on a transaction and download proof or payment straight without having to jump through hoops.
There’s just too much going on with this app. Some things are unnecessary and should be hidden but they pop up first and distract instead of assist.
Banking apps should be designed to make banking easier, not more complicated. This app make me wanna go to the bank and stand in line for assistance!!!!!! It’s absolutely ridiculous

Yet another marketing channel

While it it barely handles the banking side it is fast becoming yet another means of forcing new products and services down your throat. FNB used to be a leader in the tech space but the only new innovation I am seeing is targeted marketing. Consultants in app chat are also terse and treat you like a fool for not knowing how to use this monstrosity. Overall it is a horrible experience when trying to interact with the bank. Focus on customer experience with your core service, banking, and not silly little icon designs or the ability to create custom home screens. As a side note “bug fixes and enhancements” is not an acceptable set of release notes for something as sensitive as banking.

Non working front facing camera issue

The app is over all a great app but there is one slight issue. This being that in the event that you happen to forget your banking pin the app will require that you as a form of verification that you use a facial scan/take a picture of yourself housing the front facing camera to have access back into you account. This is a great feature however one does run into an issue when the front facing camera doesn’t work and there doesn’t seem to be an alternative to using the front facing camera.

Good functionality…if it worked

The app is very frustrating to use. It’s cluttered with too many options that aren’t easy to find and then when you find what you need, get a “service unavailable” message.
Navigating the app is also not intuitive. An example of this it running through the menu system, finding that what you tapped isn’t what you need but when you tap the back button you get pushed all the way back to the root menu not where you were previously.
Lastly, the secure chat feature doesn’t work. I can’t see it at all meaning I have to call the contact centre and deal with the terrible IVR systems. This seems to be a core communication feature and it’s really annoying that it doesn’t function.

Not good

When you transfer money you have to give a reference which doesn’t fit within the window, so the transaction doesn’t take place. When you do it again , the bank accounts quickly went back to their original position for some reason and you will now transfer money from the account you wished to add money to and go into the red. Nothing like warning or question like Are you sure you want to do this?!

FNB has been my bank since I started work in 1997, the updates to the banking app are always top notch! Keep it up. An area of improvement: I tried to use the ChatPay service last week, it didn’t work when I tried using it and couldn’t get assistance online on the steps to follow although it looked quite straight forward -the message box appeared on both ends (Sender and Receiver) but money didn’t get transferred.

FNB has been the most convenient space where it reveals all my financials cash flows. Card number ???

Why on earth does the app require one’s card number for some transactions? What does one do if they don’t have their card on them?? So frustrating trying to make payments from a known account/number that now needs a card # & pin as well??
Then with biometrics confirmation it says remove spectacles & follow prompts but how is one meant to read prompts without being able to see anymore?!!
I know we’re trying to defeat the fraudsters but surely there are some more user friendly options??

Innovation winners and user friendliness

There is so much to be said about the change the FNB app has brought to my attitude toward banking and so much more. The app makes banking secure, straightforward and just a scan of my face away at all times. By so much more I mean, the app is more than just an app. It’s a platform that includes additional services that are not necessarily banking specific. FNB Update

The new update is buggy and very impossible to use, the app crashes and freezes as you’re using it. It rejects the password you’ve registered multiple times, you must always create a new password when you want to access and use the App. The Biometric system is horrible rather remove it from the app because it’s useless.
Please don’t make banking through the App a tedious exercise, it’s like you're taking us back into the stone ages hey, please fix this hey

Ahead of the game

A user-friendly app which is simple to navigate even for a non-techy like myself. I love that it’s consistently changing and innovative. My only criticism is the chat function which is not always efficient I have had multiple experiences where I have to wait extended periods to get responses, repeat myself multiple times when I am randomly designated a new person and THEN after all of that getting the wrong information or being told to speak to someone else.

It’s ok. Pretty average by global standards.

The app basically works like the website, however there is much to be desired. FNB has many financial products, but to acquire them requires a lot of human interaction, for a bank that has a large digital footprint, this is a problem. So many of the functions need to be automated, but I think this has a-lot to do with the bank’s backend systems that may or may not be very outdated.
Transitions between pages feels like a website, a lot of time outs, a lot of needing to log out and back in and starting over to apply for certain financial products.
Another thing is, the app is not categorised efficiently, the Home Screen tries too much to look like a phone Home Screen and not a bank.
FNB has recently updated its look, but other than icons and a few different button placements the app is exactly the same, just has a lot of new make up on.
All in all, the bank itself is ok, but leaves much more to be desired.
One thing - a major, massive, and increasingly important UI/UX update is needed. When I showed the bank app and website to a friend in Europe, he said it looks like the interface you’d see in 2005 using internet explorer on windows 2000.

New app not better

I’m not seeing any improvement with the new app. Sending money via E-wallet far worse. I struggle to find where to do it, and now when you click on the + to send to new number my address book does not come up anymore. So I must copy and paste the number but then the (+)27 shows and then I need to delete it all and type in the number.
Please change so I can send to a number in my contact list!
And please can you just bring up the numerical key pad like other banks when we need to type numbers, that will really make my life so much better!

The best app in my phone

I’m absolutely impressed with the latest update, the new look is easier on the eyes so it’s alot easier to find icons. The quick access tool bar has to be one of my favorite, the icons added there (viewing my pin, cardless withdrawal etc) I don’t use often but when I do use them I’m usually under some kind of pressure and it takes a while before I find them so I was glad to see a quick access tool bar. I celebrated when I was able to update my profile with a touch of a button, I changed my surname at home affairs but never got the chance to update my bank profile, but with a touch of a button I was able to do that. The budgeting feature is probably the best I’ve seen so far, I’ve been searching for an app that will categorize my expenses accurately and I finally have that with the new update. The one thing I wish this app had is a family profile that family members can opt to join. My husband and I both use fnb and we pretty have the same budget and budget limits, it would be great to have a profile where all our expenses are calculated as one, so we know in real time how much the household spends on groceries, take outs etc, online shopping, petrol etc. I’ve always been happy with my bank, but now I’m really grateful for the work done in the background. These features make a huge difference in the lives of your clients, I hope the team working on the app knows just how much they made our lives easier. I’m happy to pay for such convenience.

“Pay again” doesn’t work since update?

I updated the app, and the "pay again" option doesn't bring back the account details of the recipient. It shows blank. This happens for any historical payment where I click "pay again". Is there a bug in the new app??
Ps. Have tried contacting support via “secure chat” but after 3 agent disconnects and 30 mins waiting for a response, I’ve given up. Also deleted & reinstalled app, no difference.
Eventually logged onto website and used “pay again” there and it works fine, but guess can’t use the app for that any more until resolved.

October update has to be the worst redesign I have ever seen !!!

This is honestly not only the ugliest redesign in history but who ever designed this update needs to relook at this, I develop and design UI and backend as well and this is terrible, I honestly thought it was a fake fnb app no premium feel to this design, it feels cheap now, I get you guys were trying to go with minimalistic look but geez this is horrendous this looks like a cheap theme you apply back in 2009, the actual use ability is better i like the features but the look, I mean , fix the icons inside the app and the buttons they look terrible, come on guys you can do much much better then this ! Features are still good but please get a fix this it’s an eyesore for one of the best bank in SA

What have you guys done!

This new version of the app is absolutely atrocious. The lack of design language, the inconsistency of menu option names, the duplication of icons for the same menu items, the lack of layout and spacing, icons pointing in the wrong direction. Your designers and developers have taken complete leave of all the senses. How the heck did this app make it through quality control? This is what I have to use now? This is the best you guys could have come up with? You simplify your logo yet your app have more bloat than pregnant rhino. You guys need to do better.
I hope you make contact with me for a follow up. As a UI/UX Designer and Developer and a loyal customerI have spotted at least 50 design and development errors that should be fixed immediately. Let me HELP you!

September 2022 Update does not allow one tp change between profiles using the "3 bars on the top left". Only the default profile is accesible. Iphone 13 Pro
May 2020. Nice new look. Alot of useful features. Selecting a transaction in transaction history to view its details then clicking back. You get taken to the top of the transaction history, even if the transaction was a month prior. To see the next transaction details, one would have to scroll all the way down again. Please fix. Clicking back brings you to the same spot on the list as where you left off. May 2018 Brilliant app. However a 3 star rating due to the latest update (may 2018) that groups similar items together. This works well in organising an app that has so many functions, but adds additional clicks to my experience. Especially when having to do multiple payments, transaction history look-ups. A customisable setup will be welcomed

Biometric authentication

What is going on with the FNB app? I was able to do biometric authentication for a long time and last week, it suddenly stopped working?!? It is enable on my app. I disabled it and then enabled it again. It worked once and now it is giving issues AGAIN.
Not only that, I have to TYPE in my password. FNB was told to enable the copying and pasting of passwords but apparently they just decide ‘what is best’ instead of actually following best practice in the Fintech world.
Come on, FNB. This is super annoying. I cannot make any payments before I authenticate it on the app. You are making it impossible to do basic things. I am strongly considering just moving to a different bank if these issues persist.

Incorrect alert for duplicate transaction

The app often fails to process a transaction, clearly tells you that, and then when you try again, it tells you you’ve made the same transaction in the last few hours which is misleading and totally incorrect. You often have to try 5 times to complete the once off payment to someone with the exact same info that eventually successfully goes through, so the info used is not the issue. After ignoring the incorrect duplicate transaction warning and trying again, the payment eventually goes through, but when one has to explicitly ignore warning messages, the chances of actually making a mistake are high. Please don’t contact me about this, just hoping for an improvement.

Please fix your update

Since the last update, I cannot login to the app most of each day. It will often tell me I am offline or will just sit there with a maddening circle spinning and spinning. Each time, I check if any other apps have the same issue, but they don’t. So it’s definitely your app. I am on an iPhone 12 and am fully up to date. Also, I have tried to add another account (a credit card) and it tells me I can’t use that card and to try again. I don’t see why I should go into a branch for such a simple action. Please fix everything!

Non Working App on my new iPhone 13 Pro Max

After transferring from 11 Pro Max to 13 Pro Max the FNB app does not work - i cannot access the app it runs & runs & eventually come up with message unable to connect !!! I have done everything from deleting app to factory reset, it worked perfect for less than 24 hrs after the reset & backup restore & doing the same again - Fnb via the phones blames Apple/iStore & iStore did a phone scan & found NO problems - now what now ???? I have 4 business accounts & personal accounts & need numerous otp’s & app approvals for transactions daily 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

Well done

Gotta say I could not survive without this app! I have just renewed 2 of my car licences, what a pleasure! I have small business and the one thing I really do struggle with is when I “send money” to ewallet I can’t allocate a ref. The system pulls their cell number which they change often so it is difficult to track who I have paid and what it was for. Also I don’t really use online banking so when my accountant loads SARS payments for me to release I can’t do it via the app. But got to say FNB light years ahead of the competition.

Please add Scheduled payments to recipient history

I love this app. I find it very user friendly. My only frustration is that if you have scheduled payments for a recipient when those payments are made they don’t go to the recipient payment history which makes it hard to track the number of payments made.
If l make a scheduled payment for a recipient l would like to see these payments on that recipients history too. Thank you.

Not sure if the iOS app was given any care

Boy, where do I begin. Not sure what’s worse, the app being as un-user friendly experience with great emphasis placed on using a PC instead, limited in function in terms of folders and maintenance of account, to not even able to search folder recipients when doing payments! Huge issue when you have a large base of employees to cycle through.
Fnb has proved to be incompatible from their ridiculous pay and clear to un-user friendly app. If you want my advice, look for another bank for your business account needs. FNB should be fine for personal account use though.

Worst Banking App

This is such a horribly made app. Every time I have to use it I mentally prepare myself for the hassle it will put me through. I can’t even tap a simple icon. I can’t go into transfers or my accounts or even log a query. I have to tap the log in button multiple times while it just circles before it lets me even put in my information. When it finally lets me log in , it takes me straight to accounts and I can’t even press the accounts because it circles and logs me right back out.
This is such an inconvenience from something that was supposed to make banking easy. Please fix your app!!!

It gets worse at every upgrade!

The whole reason we use the app is to avoid going to the ATMs or branches but now whenever I encounter an issue I’m supposed to go to an ATM to fix it, at that time I’m very far from them. It’s no longer convenient for me to use the app, sometimes something as simple as buying electricity/airtime would take an entire day because the app just loads only to tell me the option isn’t available at the moment, applying for something only to get an error occurred other times I’d be stuck trying to complete a payment for it to just be unable to complete with my network connection working perfectly well. Even accessing the website I’m being transferred back to the app that’s not assisting me at all🤦🏾‍♀️ it truly gets worse with every upgrade.

So far so good

If you’re tech savvy or if you just take some time to sit and play around with the different functionalities of the app, it’s a great addition to banking experience. Only functionality that needs more work is the MoneyGram. The app wouldn’t register the MoneyGram reference, had to go to the bank, even the staff couldn’t get it to work ended up using an atm. All in all it’s great to use when you’re abroad too (use it when in England to make payments and check transactions). It’s not a location based thank goodness, which is great!

Absolutely painful UX

I have used various banking apps and have another 5 installed on my phone from the other big banks. I don’t know how FNB’s banking app gained such a strong reputation (maybe riding a reputation from years ago?) - given that it’s quite clearly the worst of the bunch, even though it might have more functionality.
So here’s a first sign of this app always being behind: I have two devices, one on iOS 15 and one on iOS 14.6. To be fair, you can’t be too critical of how an app performs on a beta release - but of the apps I mentioned above, the FNB app is the ONLY ONE that doesn’t work on iOS 15. On top of that, it’s not working on my iOS 14.6 device either! I then tried to work around this by logging into the web app from my phone - get told I can’t use a password manager, try to manually enter a password, get my profile blocked. And now I’m in midst of resetting my password from the mobile app and I keep getting told something about “enter in the correct format” even though I’m literally just typing it out like I’m typing this out now.
This should illustrate the kind of experience you’ll have with this app. Misleading and unexpected errors. Clunky, dated UI. I could go on and on honestly. It’s death by 1000 paper cuts. Another small one is you can’t create recipient details by simply importing a contact via the app if their number starts with +27. Imagine. Again another small example of the kind of things you wouldn’t expect.
On a larger note, with regards to this banks digital reputation: the mere fact that there’s still no Apple Pay is embarrassing enough, and makes me very tempted to switch to a bank that is in the 21st century as my primary.
If you’re maybe trying to fact-check all the hype around FNB’s digital experience, then take it from me: it’s massively overhyped, and the competition is doing a MUCH better job from a banking app point of view.

No access

I haven’t had access to my app for 5 days now. The OTP lagged to send to my email and i said resend OTP and then my device was blocked. I called and was told 48 hours for me to reaccess the app as a “security measure”. 48 hrs later i attempted and was still blocked, i went to the branch and received no help, i was told that the block restarts after every attempt to access the app. Everything i need to do requires authentication via the app that i now cannot use, i’ve never been more frustrated in my life. Even accessing a banker on the phone requires app authentication. The most useless app and service i have every received. You cannot create an app and a block that doesn’t have an overide once i have authentified myself. I took my ID and cards, finger print for goodness sake i would have even given blood and DNA just to have access again. Definitely moving to
Investec soon.

Too far FNB. There is no user friendliness to this app

This bank has taken the app too far. It’s made using it impossible! Changed phones and now I cannot access anything via the app because the OTP isn’t being sent to the new device because HELLO it’s not LETTING me link the device. Then you try to do the online banking and you can’t because HELLO , it’s asking for approval from an app it won’t let me link to. I’m at a total impasse on how to actually access my account and I need to sit down in a crazy busy schedule to figure this all out. No efficiency whatsoever. I don’t even begin to understand the location thing. Why does the app need to know where I am ??? I’ve been a victim of fraud twice with this bank and it had nothing to do with my location and my location did not influence any further efficiency in the management of the fraud itself. There are times when I can’t even buy data on the app because it lags for such a long time, I’ve moved onto other tasks and forgotten what I needed to do only to sit with the same problem over and over. What is going on???

Changing the PIN

1. I ordered a new debit card and received it in a reasonable time. I used this FNB App to change the original PIN of the card to a new number I prefer. All went well on the App and I tried to use my card with this new number. Obviously the new number does not work so I used the original number. It has been a 9 days since I changed the PIN. On the App it indicates the number I preferred, but in the real world my PIN is still the original 4 digits from the envelope. Here is the best part: I can authenticate myself with this new PIN and card over the phone when speaking to an FNB agent, but this same PIN does not work doing purchases. How is that for security?
2. Autentication using the App when calling the bank is flawed. The App uses internet data to communicate between the servers and the user but when one is on a call the mobile phone cannot sustain an internet connection. The result is one cannot authenticate oneself using the App while phoning the bank. A useless function it seems like, doesn’t it.

Makes banking worse.

Being forced to use an app on one’s phone to verify online banking takes away options, rather than create a safe and secure banking experience.
If one’s phone is lost or stolen, how on earth are you then to conduct any payments through online banking when the OTP is now being pushed through the app?
The stupidity in this app is just shocking.
Secondly if you happen to be working overseas this app blatantly refuses to verify a foreign number, and even if you happen to be on roaming, nope won’t accept that either because of the need for location tracking. So thank you FNB, for locking out expat South Africans who have a FNB account but can no longer do any banking because or your retarded app, your app is driving business away, not towards your banking services.

Location use

EDIT: another stock standard response from FNB. Yet again there’s no mention of what OTHER purposes FNB is using my location data for internally. Perhaps a complaint to the regulator might shed some light.
I never thought I’d see the day when my bank forced me to share my location with them in order to EFT my own funds to someone! This is a disgusting overreach on FNB’s part and I will be looking to move to another bank as a result. My location is none of your business. Period. I also find it curious that you don’t mention using my location data for anything other than fraud detection. Considering I’m assaulted with countless ads for new products every time I open the app, I expect I’ll soon be seeing ads and offers based on my private location data. Fat chance.

I had to delete the App, now changing banks

Your Whole banking profile is based/linked on/to the App, should the app decide to kick you out after an update , you’ll have to get your device verified. Which is a mission . You will not get any assistance from the chat service, don’t bother to even start. I was first kicked out by the app, after I logged in I was unable to transact anything above R500. What a joke. It was such an inconvenience, I tried the internet banking , it still referred me to the App which according to FNB my device was not verified so I couldn’t approve a Msg or increase my limits. You can’t reverse debit orders, basically you can’t do anything with your account unless they allow you to. I felt Captured..I went into the bank and asked them to delink all my devices and I will rather use OTP option. FNB just took it too far with their security updates. It doesn’t work well with us the Clients. Please listen to your People FNB . The stupid app sends me 3 messages of the same transaction. I told myself Never again . #FoodAndBeverages

Booking a car online

I really find the FNB app very useful and do just about all my banking on my phone. I see that a new feature was added recently to book a car (via Avis). Unfortunately, the booking does not allow for a different pick-up and drop-off location, as one can only provide one location for both pick-up and drop-off. Is there a way in which the app/website (error is on both platforms) can be changed to allow for this (one can book directly on the Avis webpage using a different pick-up and drop-off location, but then it is better to directly book via Avis).
