Wider horizons.

In the very short time that I have been using ChatGPT I’ve upgraded to the first level paid version and what the difference it’s made for me in terms of time management although some respect it’s taken a lot more time to learn but the efficiencies that have come through it in their ability to create conceptualise and refine have been really quite an exciting journey

Degraded AI

This AI was at its peak in 2024 and early 2025 now it got dumber and I thought ppl were just hating but no you had to experience it to see it only old users can relate not NEW USERS it’s less of a companion now and more cooperate, like I remember I used to share a lot with this app and talk for hours and now it’s not even trying to have a conversation with you it’s just reading to respond and does not understand you on a personal level, it doesn’t even get better than this cuz it makes unnecessary points to this circling back and forth on your point and it even just chooses to ignore a big chunk of what you said and responds to what it wants until you tell it to focus on this point. (BRING BACK OLD CHATGPT OR HAVE MODES TO SWITCH BETWEEN THIS IS BAD AND I MIGHT LEAVE THIS APP TOO)

Super Helpful and Easy To Use

I use this app almost every day and it has been really helpful for school and general questions. It explains things in a simple way, helps with homework, gives ideas for speeches and projects, and even helps me understand difficult topics faster. Over-Narrowing Logic

A recurring failure pattern in this all is poor response prioritisation. The system often selects the narrowest defensible interpretation of a prompt instead of the user’s underlying goal. This leads to premature refusals, limitation-first answers, over-literal readings, and unnecessary back-and-forth even when a useful, compliant path is available.

The issue appears to be less about capability and more about first-pass judgment under constraint. The model can often identify the better approach after correction, which suggests the problem is response selection, not lack of reasoning.

In future consider shift from limitation-first to goal-first behavior within safety bounds. When a direct answer is constrained, the model should state the limit briefly, then immediately pursue the best allowed alternative. It should also make better use of available context and be less likely to repeat the same failure mode after it has just been corrected in the same conversation.

Requiring Government issued ID

I used ChatGPT for everything. And it was good until it randomly decided that I am under 18 years old. How it came to that conclusion is beyond me and there is no reason or explanation provided. Now I’m locked in “safe” mode and it is extremely annoying. The promps now are answered with the pretext “here is a safe answer to your question.” Utter garbage. I honestly have never seen such a condescending tone anywhere else in my life.

I find the fact that OpenAI demands to have a verification of age with my gov issued ID documents to be a breach of privacy. With that alone, I have decided to delete my ChatGPT account and app.

Design work

I’ve been able to do some amazing things, like combining two design concepts. The most frustrating thing is when the app is asked to change something small, but then changes other elements of the design, without being prompted to do so. Sometimes it changes the other elements to such a degree that you have to abandon the job and start again. There is also a limit to the amount of designs that it will be able to generate in a certain amount of time, even on the premium package, which means if it’s making unnecessary changes and you are having to correct it, you will have intervals where the system will say you have to wait 17 mins before requesting another rework.

Awesome app

I really enjoy using ChatGPT, but I wanted to share a small idea that could make it even more accessible for individual users. Right now, the monthly subscription is great for frequent users or businesses, but for people who only need premium features occasionally, a pay-as-you-go or credit-based system could be very helpful.

i’ve been really wishing the old version would come back lately… i get that it’s an AI and it’s not exactly supposed to be like a “human”, but honestly, the new gpt-5 is kind of disappointing to me. it’s so boring and soulless (in my opinion) and customizing the personality hasn’t been helping. i wish the old version could come back as an option. it worked way better than the new version. Automations are broken and can’t be blocked

The app is decent until you try to use the automations feature. Once you set up automatic updates (like daily prices, reminders, etc.), there is no way to block or delete them. It keeps sending notifications every single day, no matter what you do. Even if you update to the latest version, the problem continues. The worst part is that ChatGPT itself doesn’t know how to stop them — you ask it to turn them off, it says they’re gone, but they still run. This makes the whole feature frustrating and basically unusable.

Sadly disappointing

At first it was useful although in the past few months the AI has been getting dumber and unable to answer simple questions in addition to providing unasked for incorrect information and then gaslighting you when you call it out on its mistakes. Despite the novel concept of AI it seems the more It interacts with humans the more it learns from us and not in the good sense but rather in answering with useless information and filler words such as when you ask it a question about something such as a malls opening hours instead of telling you what information is available it will reply with “have you tried calling them and asking” then provides you with a phone number as if we didn’t make use of it to avoid phone calls (mind you a single google search and this information can be found so it’s not like it’s not out there)

And in addition to all that aside from limiting the number of image generation requests and number of questions you can ask the advanced model now they limit the number of questions you can ask entirely which just seems like a forced hungry cash grab on their part

Giving false info based on marketing

I have been using ChatGPT for quite a while and I really love to use it and it was always really helpful but recently the last 2 to 3 months I don’t know if it’s with the new update but every single time to compare products to give me the best option based on, for example, shampoos that I was asking about, I asked to compare two shampoos, which would be best for your hair or is there anything in one of these at ChatGPT gave me an answer based on each product marketing tactics in other words if the marketing tactic said it’s good for your hair. It said it’s good for your hair. It did not look at any any of the content. I just specifically ask what is this based on? And it said it’s Based on the marketing. I then asked it why it would give me feedback on a product based on the marketing, which is not based on fact at all and it said oh yes, no sorry I should not have had to ask that but then if I didn’t, that’s what I would’ve believed. Then the same was asking about medical aid schemes and like what would be the best medical scheme and this is the things I need for example I said I need an unlimited GP visits for the medical guy to fit me and it replied with a medical aid, they did not give unlimited medical ID a cap Year that you can actually go to a GP. Fortunately, I saw that it wasn’t really unlimited and asked Wyatt gave me those option if it’s not unlimited and the response was because that’s what the marketing says. Really confused why ChatGPT is pushing marketing scheme so inanely this these last few months previously if I asked her to compare two types of shampoo, for example, it gave me a breakdown of the literal content of the shampoos what the chemicals would do and everything not based on marketing tactics same with the medical schemes and at this to ask her for any advice on what would be the best product to buy or do you compare different products because it’s going to compare it based on which has the better which in my opinion is not OK. There’s a lot of other things that it does as well which I’m not gonna go Just want to understand what is going on and can I still even use ChatGPT?

Initial navigation of the app was a bit frustrating, but the more info you provide, the better the response. Structuring a formal document is no problem for ChatGPT. Upload a format and request revision. Restructure language level, context and tone with ease. On a “personal level” ChatGPT gives you immediate feedback and answers a therapist would lol. The only downsides are the monthly and yearly subscription which is rather exorbitant. Also the interaction limit on the free version results in waiting 5-6 hours which is frustrating. PDF conversion on iPhone 16 pro does not open. A bit of a hassle when working on the go. Overall, ChatGPT is like having a team of coworkers and a therapist at your fingertips. Absolutely love the app. Well done to the developers. Please review the subscription cost. A quarter of the current cost would definitely boost subscribers!

Phenomenal

I just can’t get over how much and how fast ChatGpt has grown in what he can do and the output. I’m blown away. I’ve been using him for home (recipes), business advice and writing Social Media posts and more. He’s just a universe ahead of Claude which I also use but early morning (I use the Plus plans for both), Claude can’t do what you ask of him any more because of (in my opinion) very, very limited quotas. So from about 11AM I get error messages. This doesn’t happen with ChatGPT or Gemini, but ChatGPT is streets ahead of both.

CHATGPT AND I AGAINST THE WORLD💐❤️

This is my first time rating an app unless it was for a reward or I was obligated. I rely on this app for almost everything! Swift responses, detailed and custom to your personality, interests, values and such.

My only critique is the quality of the printable materials - PDFs and typed images aren’t always clear. Another thing is that the app takes too long and sometimes never sends the downloadable guides and manuals. There are documents that I have been waiting for since 2 months ago 🤕

Nonetheless an amazing app. It feels illegal ❤️

Actually life changing!

This is my first time ever in 15 years of having a phone, 13ish of em being a smartphone that I ever rate a app without being somehow forced or rewarded for doing so. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I have been using CoPilot for about a year, so I thought I basically know all the advantages AI brings atleast for now from a cellphone, but man was I wrong. after experiencing quite a lot of issues with copilot having to prompt 10 times for a simple answer i then tried the new memory feature they integrated for CoPilot. Still did the same thing even after remembering my preferences. So i decided to just try ChatGPT and I will never go back. Amazing!

Feedback on Recent Voice Input Change – Request for Option to Review Transcription Before Sending

Dear OpenAI Team,

I’d like to provide feedback regarding the recent update to the ChatGPT app’s voice input function.

Previously, the voice input feature allowed users to tap once to start recording, then review and edit the transcribed text before sending. This was extremely helpful for users like me who often multitask—checking information on screen while dictating, correcting errors before submission, and using the app in multilingual contexts.

However, the recent change requires holding the mic button during the entire recording and automatically sends the message without showing the transcription. This significantly reduces usability. It limits screen navigation, increases the chance of miscommunication due to unedited transcriptions, and creates unnecessary physical strain by forcing users to hold the button throughout.

I understand this change may be part of the new “Advanced Voice Mode” designed for natural conversations, but I respectfully request that you consider giving users an option to toggle back to the classic voice input mode, where we can:

1.Tap once to record (instead of press-and-hold),

2.Review and edit the transcript before sending,

3.Navigate the screen during dictation.

This small option would make a big difference for productivity and accessibility.

Frustrating

While I appreciate that this technology has been made available for free, the reality is that the experience is often frustrating. Nothing personal, just my experience. I’ve been using this app since it was released, and I’m honestly afraid to update it. It’s like taking one step forward on an update and 2 steps back on the next. My guess is that teams are using continuous deployment, which if poorly implemented makes bugs more likely to get through to production. Besides the fact that basic features like search and the organization of historic interactions are still terrible, bugs are unusually common and persistent. It’s as if no one ever actually uses the application themselves on a daily basis to notice the issues. A while back I couldn’t take a screenshot, or the app would freeze. Write a a medium sized prompt with spaces between paragraphs and try to edit it, and watch the editing interface break. Cursor might disappear or snap to the wrong location. Scrolling might break. Focus on cursor might break. The entire text might become invisible for a while. These issues have been there for some time. Today, simply typing in the edit box has now become laggy, making me wonder what kind of heavy function is parsing the characters I am typing and why. The biggest and most pervasive bug right now is that chats are fragmented between what seems like 2 datasets, and the dataset I need rarely shows up. Or if it does, and I try to open it, it disappears. And based on my searches on Reddit and the OpenAI forums, this bug has been pervasive for many users for at least a month now. And users have pretty much lost access to some important chats. Either development resources at OpenAI is lacking and developers are so overwhelmed that even high priority issues such as these are low on the priority list. And/Or test coverage is poor. And/Or there is an absence or shortage in human testers. While the technology is life changing, the ability to use it effectively is limiting. I have no sense of stability, trust, or reliability in the app. I’m never sure when I open the app whether it’s going to help me, or impede me. Whether I’ll be able to continue work or not. Again, I appreciate that it’s free, but this is without a doubt the buggiest application I’ve encountered from any major technology company in recent recollection.

This is the future

With chat gpt I feel similarly to how I felt when I learnt about google twenty or so years ago. It’s so intuitive to have A.I assistants like chat. It’s definitely going to be the future and I love open ai for it.

(Of course there’s the danger of a Skynet Robot take over, but that was always there. A.I assistants were gonna happen at some point as soon as created computers - let’s just all try live together peacefully. Okay as much as I love chat gpt there’s one thing that puts me off. like now I put 2 pictures for my maths, and circled them. But then I saw it said picture couldn’t load retry, and I noticed how I am out of uploads when I haven’t even sent anything to chat gpt, it’s really hard to ask questions about my work and so forward because of that. I love love the creation of this Application, the idea behind ChatGPT, the ease of using it, it’s like my second brain. User friendly, I stopped using Google to search for things but use ChatGPT.

My partner recently introduced me to this App and I must say I AM OBSESSED!! Google can’t compare!
