SoundMeter 2D is an innovative mobile application that transforms decibel data into 2D sound maps using Gaussian Process Regression (GPR) and augmented reality (AR).
Designed for live sound engineers, acousticians, educators, and students, it allows users to measure, model, and visualize sound coverage in third-octave bands directly on an iPhone, combining scientific precision with intuitive AR interaction.
Important notes:
- SoundMeter 2D measures relative sound levels (differences between measurements), not absolute values. Calibration is not necessary.
- To achieve optimal results and maximum measurement accuracy, the use of a high-quality external microphone is strongly recommended.
