Hi Google. Why do we not have a Car-play or Android Auto function yet? Please can you make this happen?? For example i can open my garage door through my vehicles infotainment system/ Gate motor. This is something that will work very nicely.

Concerns about basic functions in South Africa
I’m in South Africa, and I can no longer perform basic tasks—like typing a query into Google to get instructions. It seems that Gemini isn’t activated in my country. Even if Gemini isn’t available yet (or ever), I shouldn’t lose access to essential, everyday functions.

It works, then when the phone screen goes off, and wake it again the remote blanks out and is unusable. Exit, go back in each time. Also a constant nag screen saying it needs bluetooth... yes I know, now stop showing me the stupid sign. No setting to make that stop either. The app is useful but so buggy on ios

It worked so well...then it didn't
Pairs well with Chromecast. Works like a charm...for 10mins. It then randomly asks to pair your phone again (when you aren't trying) and by the time you get your phone out, the code has disappeared.
You have to delete the app, reset everything, pair your phone, and the same thing happens again.
Apple tv and phone works better. Chromecast is great, but buggy.

My experience with google home has been great,
but I’ve encountered a few bugs.
I live in SA and am using a chromecast 4k and normal.
They connect fine, but sometimes the remote doesn’t work.

Chromecast is not supported in South Africa
I find it ridiculous that we aren’t able to us our chromecast devices here in South Africa! We have been using our Chromecast over a year now and without any warning we aren’t able to use it! I have Chromecast version 3.0 and its just over a year old now i cant use it!

Not what it used to be. Very disappointed.
I feel so disappointed and cheated. I have invested in a number of Google home devices and recently bought new one for office specifically for radio, but few months ago this ceased to work together with a number of similar features like music. Somehow appears Google no longer providing full service in South Africa and probably many other areas. And not getting any proper answers from Google. Be aware of this product if not in mainstream country.

Not user friendly
The google home mini is such a cool device but the experience is ruined by the app. It is really difficult to find exactly what you’re looking for, there are like five different places to find the settings for things. Also it’s infuriating that it doesn’t work 100% with iPhones, for example I live in South Africa and the mini isn’t compatible with Apple Music or Apple podcasts. It’s just disappointing because this could be such an awesome device to use.

Glitchy
The volume setting on the connection to the google chrome resets after you disconnect/after 24 hours. So every day, the first connection’s volume is always set to 100% so the TV screams at you until the app takes its time to open and then you can lower the volume. Why can’t the app just keep the volume that it was last set at? Aside from that it’s an incredible feature and I love what I’m able to do all from my phone.

So we support Google but Google is not supporting their customers... in a third wold junk staus country such as South Africa, we do have access to Google Home but you do not make google assist available to us... why, its a matter of just allowing us to download the app we will figure it out without you!!!!

Can’t keep bluetooth connection with iPhone
I previously wrote a review about how Google Home can only be used as a Bluetooth speaker in South Africa. Well.... now I can’t keep a connection. It drops every 5 months. Now these are just two decorative items in my home.

Doesn’t have automation
I love this app just it lacks in automation features, it has routines but you can’t use them if you don’t have a google home speaker. Even cheap smart home apps have these features, like if I arrive home then my lights turn on if it’s night time or if my chrome cast gets casted to the light will turn off and the blinds will close... even Alexa has these features. I have to rely on IFTTT but it gives you very little flexibility like if I arrive home and it’s pasted sunset the lights turn on.
Please google, give us automation features.

Experiencing a lot of bugs and malfunctions
While it’s amazing when it works. I experience a dysfunction on the daily. Either the google Home app doesn’t pick up that it’s being used by another app, so when the other app freezes or malfunctions, I find it difficult to reboot. Eventually closing all apps works, however, today everything stopped working and it asked me to set it up again. But then it detects the device and its already set up. But won’t play anything.
