Request whilst driving

It is working, just takes time to update my trips. Also can Bolt do something with riders that request a ride and as one is a minute away they cancel a trip after driving 5 minutes to get to them. Hi, I would love to suggest that bolt premium operates 24hrs like other classes. The few clients I’ve had asked why they can’t get a premium ride after hours. And some drivers prefer working after hours.
I do not think it’s also fair to do bolt standard with premium cars. The ride doesn’t cover the petrol.
Please do look into the matter.

Horrible processing and support.

The AI Support gives irrelevant answers to what you need help with, the human agents just tell you that they’ll take it up with a higher team while doing nothing of the sort,
if you have the ability to get a bonus that expires and they can they’ll put your app offline so you can’t drive and earn the bonus, then delay support until the expiry date happens so they don’t have to pay you out… there’s a lot of manipulation that happens in this company, just know, try to do things ahead of time and if you can have other ehailing apps to work in, as bolt turns on people at anytime and gives foolish reasons.

Bolt was much easier to work with the access of having 2 extra categories to boost your earnings and to be neutral when working but now you as a driver you have 1 category that corresponds to your making of your vehicle which is ridiculous because we as drivers can’t make money like we use to, we can’t reach our daily, weekly and monthly targets and that’s causing a major problem in our daily lives since bolt is our only source of income and by this update it’s actually making things much worse because drivers are forced to asking people if they want a ride just like how they in the minibus industry. Please fix this issue before it gets worse!!
To speak about the prices, they’ve gotten lower than the usual. Every passenger has a promotion discount and it’s difficult to make money if bolt keeps handing out promotions. Our petrol consumption is getting affected because you can’t transport someone who’s gonna pay you R10 when that person could’ve literally taken a minibus taxi instead. Please fix this pricing of trips and promotions!!

I wasn’t getting trips.

For the first time I wasn’t getting trips like I’m used, I uploaded this vehicle on my application and it approved yesterday, I’ve been online since 8 in the morning but I was getting trips after an hour or more, and when I’m next to other bolt drivers they get trips and I would get nothing for like an hour or so as if I’m owing or my scores are but meanwhile I’m not owing nothing in fact bolt owes me and ratings and all above 90% but still I don’t get trips.

Amazing application

The application is so swift and so accurate. The only other problem is when network is bad. It took me back to where l dropped the last person after driving to pick somebody else. Maybe it was my lack of knowledge in change over but am happy. I improved in starting and ending trips.

Bolt Exploitation of Drivers

The commission rate that bolt is taking from drivers is leading to us getting change yet we are the ones doing the work. This is slavery. We are no longer able to even maintain the car due to the fact that it’s working yet I am not earning enough to cover its own costs. You then email us asking us why we not driving with you anymore which is useless because you just take us to links that give us tips to our complaints instead of someone reaching out to hear what we have to say. A lot of people have died with this app and the owners of the app do nothing to improve both the drivers and the riders safety more especially the drivers are never safe with this app. It’s commotions are to high and prices/earnings are very low considering the cost of petrol and the cost of car maintenance. Poor support

The super is the worst. The so called specialist don’t know what they are doing. Instead they read the manual/instructions or whatever back at you. There’s no human feel in the support. They will never address your problem. I don’t care how many screenshots you attach in order to lighten the load. To them the app can never be wrong. Whatever you’re struggling with, one way or another it’ll be your fault/error. I’ve never, ever, experienced a more incompetent support team in my life. After each message sent, the chat closes, when you open it it’s a new ‘specialist’. It’s the worst thing ever.

Drivers = Workhorses 👎🏿

1- App still sends you requests even when you’ve requested to go offline after completing the current ride, and you get scored negatively when you don’t respond to the request as having ‘declined’! What happens when I have to go to the rest room, must I go in the car whilst driving to pick up the next client?
2- The self service bot gives generic responses, thus indicating that Bolt aren’t interested in resolving our queries, especially when it’s as a result of the app malfunctioning!
3- Why must you insist on tracking me even when I’m offline/Not Working, can’t I have some privacy??!!!
4- Breaks are not encouraged because the app forces requests even when you’ve indicated that you’d like to take a break after the current ride, which indicates that Bolt doesn’t care about the drivers’ wellbeing!

Suspension Without knowing Why such thing happened

Suspending or blocking our app without knowing the story, I believe it is better to ask before suspending or blocking the app; as drivers, we deal with different people with different emotions and attitudes, so as drivers, we must ensure that everyone is safe at all times, but you appear to care more about riders than drivers; I believe we must maximise driver safety.

Safety is an issue for cash rides some just request and never goes out I wait for more than 5 minutes and nobody appears. Also in pta Bosman talk to the taxi association to accept drop offs. The app is working 100% but drivers are not happ

Bolt is exploiting the drivers here in SA they compare Europe and Africa more especially in SA petrol price goes up more than 3 times a year but their prices always going down . How do we survive driving 200km for R600 how on earth will one survive this ? You pour 400 petrol and you are left with 200 on your way back you top up with that R200 rand . Petrol price is sitting at R25 per litre and you still charge that stupid prices of yours and you never cared about drivers safety people are getting killed and hijacked day and night and you never done anything about it . This app is useless we using it for now cause after Covid everything changed including our economy crisis. I rate 1 star because that’s what bolt deserve . Blocking drivers for 3 months bcz of your rude clients or people who request n cancel trips for fun but all this leads to a driver being blocked . This bolt doesn’t respect drivers at all .

Room for improvement

App should allow drivers to accept trips at their convenience. With clients extending trips and new requests showing up as not accepted is damaging to the drivers profile. To allow drivers to continue to provide great service, one should be penalised after not accepting a new trip after a certain period intervals.

This platform is just not safe at all for driver its only them that gets verified whilst the passengers are not verified and they happen to be criminals and rob us kill us harm us... The bolt company takes a lot of commission out of trips 25% is too much rather keep 20% not 25%... COMMISSION REDUCTION

Wear & Tear plus fuel cost is bared by us drivers or owners of the Vehicles on the platform . I request a reduction on these fees charged but Bolt to be looked at.
If not if we could get fuel vouchers so that the partnership is strengthen buy supporting us also since fuel is the most important input in doing this work . This is create a better working conditions for us to earn better income .
Also encourage more customers to register card payment to cut the risk of carrying cash . This makes us targets to be robbed while we working . Card payments should be a must on the platform and cash reduced.

High chance of being ROBBED

I have been robbed and gun pointed a few times using Taxify /Bolt, their platform is being used by criminals and they don’t seem to be doing anything to reduce the crimes under their platform.
I reported my robbery incident at gun point and Taxify/Bolt never bothered to even give me back my R20 for that trip , dispite I almost got killed at Gunpoint.
There is no consequence for Bolt/ Taxify that is why they are only after profit, they should improve even the application to have face verification or fingerprint verification before ordering a ride.
Many drivers are dying and being seriously injured under BOLT / TAXIFY
Consider yourself lucky if you drive 3 months without being robbed as BOLT / TAXIFY driver.
They should do something urgently to protect drivers and their lives !!!! It’s not a joke

Acceptance Rate Unfair Demerit System

I find it unfair that if a trip request is not confirmed, the Driver Acceptance Rate is on a demerit negative score. At times due to load shedding, network prohibits. At times the area is unsafe to travel, so Bolt has to be fairly considerate of this issue. Bolt must consider driver review of customer compliants on a fairly and liberated platform.

Customer ride history with details

Please add customer ended trip history with client information. This will help with both good or bad incidents after the trip has ended. Example if client leaves keys in the car and driver finds after trip they must be able to call back the client to arrange collect and also help arrest criminals requesting trips and hijack or rob drivers then end trip.

Driver score and acceptance rate

Bolt is not a safe app for both riders and drivers more especially drivers, the security features is not very tight. Riders can have multiple accounts and that makes the bolt app unsafe.
If u can try and prevent riders to have multiple accounts that will reduce the number of hijack and killings of the bolt drivers thank you.

MUST READ!!!

The app is great, but as a driver i need to see client’s number of trip before accepting trip, i cant take a new rider at night with 0 rides , we also need to see destination (street name and correct area) before accepting the trip.

When is bolt going to stop blocking hardworking drivers for silly reasons like “Client didn’t show up “ is the driver the client or he is the service provider who has arrived for pick up, why should a driver get blocked for cancellation when he don’t feel safe to pick up, have you ever checked how many drivers have been killed so far on this platform, drivers deserves better treatment because all the risks are on the driver, you only enjoy his sweat,

Adding new vehicle

I’ve been experiencing high level of negligence from your team,i am the current driver and now I’m having issues with adding a new vehicle on my profile and it’s like all my emails to you are being answered by a robot that doesn’t necessarily read the main issue
I tested my car with raspberry and it passed the inspection but whenever i try to add it on my profile as a new vehicle i am unable to attach it documents because when i tap “next” in order to access the next page where i can upload documents it’s says “incorrect request” so please when you answering my issue dont tell me about the procedure on how to add a new vehicle because i know it and I’ve tried it

Bolt do not care about drivers

Bolt app need to show us also the drop off/destination of the client so that we decide if we accept or not.
Also when I set my radius to be within 2km and I get another trip while am still with another client, you should count the radius of the drop off point because now I will have to drive back more than 6km back to pick up the second passenger. I hope it makes sense.
Verification of passengers should be done via their ID number which can also be protected by you guys, so that if a person robs, kill, threatening my life or do not pay can always be traced.
Also cancellation fee it is only to those who pay with cards? So it does not bother you that a passenger will request me and I drive 4-6km to pick them up ad they cancel the trip, so both bot and the passenger do not lose only me.
It seems like bolt cares more about passengers because they pay them and with us you don't care coz you can always have another driver in the next min right?

PASSENGER PROFILE PICTURE PLEASE!!

As a driver, I often (and when I say “often”, I mean every single time) find it difficult for me to identify passengers that I have to go pick up especially at busy places like malls. It would make thing infinitely easier for drivers if this was to be implemented so that drivers can at least easily identify prospective passengers which would lessen the need for drivers to be distracted with trying to message or call passengers at busy/dangerous places. Also a much deeper integration with Apple’s Apple CarPlay would make more sense. In-app calling functionality is not working on iOS or through my VW POLO’s infotainment system. Please fix these, FOR SAFETY’S SAKE!!

Profile pictures for clients will be a great addition to the plartform

As drivers, we sometimes struggle to identify clients after arriving at a public pick up point like a mall entrance because they’d be a lot of people awaiting rides. So I think I’d be of great help if clients had profile pictures too for easy identification by drivers. Otherwise I’m happy with the platform and what it does for us I terms of putting bread on the table.

Cost and commission

Drivers costs are too high. We need to have data..and because the bolt GPS system is a barely functional one, we are forced to use alternative apps.. this forces us to have to gps systems running, bolt and a functional gps app.. using double the data..and airtime is also needed to contact passengers.
Bolt does not take this into account. And then on top of it all taking a large commission leaving drivers with barely any profits.
Remember, drivers are the most important drivers roles in order for this platform to work!! Drivers need to find more profitable solutions for the risks and and amount of hours spent on the road.

It’s a nice app,but it would be even nicer if I could also see the riders picture,(just for safety then we can must lay a charge at the police station then the police can put the picture of the suspect on a here criminal database,guys I think you should do something about the accepting rating too,why don’t you allow riders that want too choose a cheap ride let’s say between R20-45 only too book it on Bolt go,and then you will not have that much cancellations on the base option,any ride from R45 and up can go on the base options,you are killing us with the small rides especially having a big vehicles,your add is misleading when you say earning on your own time,now that I am doing that I get treats of blocking,South Africa crime statistics is way different from all countries don’t please don’t undermine us as drivers cause we are facing danger zones everyday,your support teams if they didn’t work as a driver don’t know how and what we have too face on the roads,if I am a partner treat me like one,please change the pricing let the low rides only run through bolt go and the base and comfort can start from R45 and up,this app is amazing I love it and I see myself as a ambassador of the brand,but guys how is 30% the lowest commission you are killing us,if we drive a 1000zar we only have like a 700zar left then the fuel must still be deducted and we go home with 400zar for the day,that’s the reality we are facing you have 100kcars on this platform in comparing with my one vehicle so please give us break please forward to relevant department,a happy driver🤙

One The Well Equipped App On The E-Hailing Services

I feel like Bolt is one of the best and well equipped app, the only thing I feel like it’s missing is the ability of driving switching from Online payments and cash payments, I think they should add that type of feature, in case a driver wants to accept online payments only they should be able to do that without hustle.

I love the concept of Bolt but it can be better for everyone that means drivers and the company Bolt if they communicate with the drivers once a week to get feedback about the areas that they drive and about customers. I think discounts should be driven during the day and at night we’re the are more risk it should be a normal price and discounts should be for bolt and bolt XL not for bolt go because it’s cheap already we are running business within the business and we can’t be treated different for example my car is a 1.8 and has a big space than other sudden cars yet they have the best trips in this business which is unfair

Nonsense

I have been using bolt for years now and suddenly the app just started showing me wrong directions and if I was not using ISO I would suspect my phone but it’s not my phone and all of a sudden I got a message that says congratulations You have completed 10 trips but in reality on my profile I have almost 3000 trips that I have completed , recently in South Africa Bolt introduced a function were you can cash out on the card payments n that function it’s no longer working as for some unknown reasons I am all of a sudden been considered a new app user .... And when I contact bolt I don’t get any response.... something it’s just not adding up .... guys just be careful , there is something strange happening out there .... if there is anyone experiencing same problem kindly voice it up n let’s see what is happening or if there was any person who knows what I am talking about please help since bolt it’s no where to be found .

iPhone app

I switched from huawei p8 to iPhone 6. And I am having challenges with the bolt navigation system. There seams to be a delay of some sort. Other than that everything else Top of the shelve spot on. I am also miss the driver promotion. If you could bring that back all will be well✌️😁😁

I would request since we are heading to the second wave of COVID that bolt should at least limit on the number we supposed to carry from 4 to may be 2 for our own safety.

app not safe at all, the more you’re trying to protect yourself and avoid requests to red zones your account will be blocked because the company doesn’t care about your safety but their own interests and commission whilst with uber which is the first class in e-halling transport care about our safety, most drivers died driving bolt than uber you know why? i can cancel as many requests i can than bolt once not feeling safe to pick up. i decided not to drive bolt until the manage the safety on drivers. when blocked the app says maybe till 2038 what no sense is that? and impounding issue in south africa bolt doesn’t pay for impound whilst uber does. i have been in this uber since 2014 much secure than bolt! guys if you want to live longer in this business, stay with uber than bolt they don’t care about drivers!

Ratings & Being Blocked.

• I personally feel if Bolt could explain to us how this ratings work maybe we would understand. No matter how much you treat you passenger if they feel they must rate you low they will. I clean my car infact almost everyday n be polite to the passenger but still some would rate you according to their own personal behaviour.
• And also when does one get they ratings up cause I could load more than 20 passengers a day but I feel one never gets credits on passenger rating unless on of Bolt employees then looks at how much I made for Bolt or activeness then I get at least 2 starts from you guys. Are drivers even taken into consideration? Also blocking a driver permanently of the app simply cause of ratings makes no sense.

You have to make sure the app allows us to see the destination of the passenger before we accept the trip. It is bad to drive more kilometers to a client only to find out that they are just going around the corner, few kilometers than you drove. At times we even accept trips outside our radius only for a client to be making a short trip. Also make sure we able to see if the payment is “In App” or “cash”.

Passenger’s free rides

This is a good app with a few flaws. One major flaw is that driver’s never get compensated for passenger’s who use promo codes to get free rides. I don’t know if I’m the only person experiencing this but it has been a great inconvenience to my operation. I hope the Bolt team reviews this issue and resolved it

Bad

The app is poor because the driver is only able to see the destination once the client is in the car, the driver cannot send in app message to clients to find out maybe about drop off point🤷🏽‍♂️. If driver declines trips in danger areas your ratings and activity score is affected🙈. So the driver must just do all trips coming his/her way. Another thing is we as drivers are being targeted by traffic officials, taxi drivers and clients with strange backgrounds where we as drivers have togo through background check etc. So what are we drivers worth to you? Only commission?!

Not knowing the destination prior to a pick up

The major and the biggest problem that needs attention is that a driver only learns about the rider’s destination when you start a trip.
A driver drives all the way to pick up a person at night and only to realize when you start the trip that the person is going to Manenberg.
It is very unsafe to operate in that manner.
I wish that the app can show where the rider is going before you even accept the trip.
