This is how you erode the Toyota Brand

This App is not the standard that Toyota should be proud of. One would have thought that the App will send alert to remind owner that vehicle is due for a service. While the App shows Vehicle Alerts and Alert menu there is no notifications.

Booking a service should be easier with search function to identify dealer - or even show closest to me on map. The logic of sorting available dealers is interesting. No warning of Mobile Data (WiFi) running low or even when there is o data available. The Developer of this App should reflect on all te reviews and actually do something about it.

Service Booking does not work

When trying to make a service booking, the app gets stuck at selecting a date and just sits updating (running circle) forever. Defeats the purpose of having this function - had to call to mske booking.

Update. Someone from Toyota sent an email saying I should send an email to the email address to ask for assistance. Well let me tell you one week later, and still no answer or concrete help from anyone. I repeat. USELESS.

Very frustrating

The app just goes into a frenzy where its just hanging and hanging. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. Selecting a time for a booking - couldn't find the accept button (Iphone). Trying to select a suburb (since I cant just type it.. you need to select it..) and it will probably let me select something in 2 days time. Very frustrating experience. Selecting the service interval - I would expect a radiobutton. This also only seem to select when you give it a day's resting time. Hope the service will be better than the app.

Logbook function

Logbook has not been working for 3rd week. No point recording this from the begininning if it stops working 2 months down the line. Reported it twice on customer care and once via call center. No solution found.

It picks up my address but then you are not able to do anything. You can't request roadside assistance and clicko g on the phone number button does not dial. Useless in an emergency.

Terrible app

I’m not able to register with my ID number and when I call the helpline that they suggest on the app nobody is able to assist. I’ve called 6 times and left my details for someone to call back and nobody calls back. From the early experience with the UX/UI it looks like Toyota needs to invest in a QA of the app.

Continuous Logoff

App keeps logging off continuously making it difficult to track your vehicle as you have to login every time you unlock your phone screen. Logging in requires username, password and otp making it undesirable as a vehicle monitoring tool.

This app boasts many cool features that dont work. None of the document features work, cannot request a settlement or Natis letter, I keep getting service reminders for a vehicle thats already been serviced.

Great idea but some regression needs to ne done to fix the bugs, app quality is not great at all.

This could’ve been such a good app however poor implementation, full of bugs and the perpetual need to keep logging in and receiving one time passwords make it almost impossible to open and use this app. If Toyota made cars as bad as this app, they wouldn’t even be able to drive off the showroom floor.

Where it shows where your car is has a massive delay, the car has moved more than an hour ago, and it did not move, refresh nothing worked,

I also added alerts, to send me notifications when the car starts etc but the car starts and hours later the notification comes through!

And the Geo Zones Alerts does not work at all!

Bookings

What is the point of being able to make a service booking on the app at a specific dealership when the app says they are available, but the dealership isn't! Then no one phones you to let you know this isn't possible and you keep on getting reminders about your booking on that specific day. When you rock up on the day of your booking no one is there, but the app still approved the booking. Why is this system not developed so that each individual branch is able to set there own dates and times when they are available! What is the point of using this app then if even the dealership says that clients if the want to book a service they should rather phone in than use the app. This app is usless!

I really love this app as it provides all the details that I need for my vehicle. This even includes a link to roadside assistance as well as WiFi connection of up to 25GB for that much needed entertainment on road trips.

Cannot log in

This app broken and login does not work.

When I try to log in it says I entered an invalid email address and some error about the index and length must be in range.

When I try to create an account by filling in the form it says an account already exists.

When I try to create an account by entering my ID number it says my profile is missing information and I must call some phone number.

The app used to work before, but now it does not work at all. Please fix it.

Cannot Select Time Slot When Booking Service

When trying to book a service using the app, when it comes to the screen to select time slot after selecting the date, the app does not respond when selecting any available slot. It’s almost as if my touch screen is not working.

The warranty details and service plan details keep disappearing. One day if gives you the correct information and the next day nothing? App is poor compared with other vehicle brands such Subaru,Haval,Volvo etc

“Toyota Care” and other

This app claims an owner can get “Toyota Care” - you get the AA call centre and no help at all! You get told Toyota SA strictly informs AA that NO after hours or weekend support is offered and all they can do is - tow the car!

There is also an issue that if you buy second-hand that your new number plate is not updated on the app - so they can’t find your car on the terrible AA system until you realise this

Parts for your car section is literally three items?

“Connect” is trying to convince you to allow Toyota to track you car and it’s onboard computer monitoring - strange when they won’t offer you support anyway (of course breaking down on a weekend is considered out of bounds for support)

One upside - Under Social the online only magazine is well done and presented

App works fine after an initial Connect issue

The App did not show the Connect option and kept crashing while trying to log-off in order to log-in with another ID. The App support and local dealer fixed my profile and now it is working fine. I will give it a 5 star once they fix the issue for Toyota owner in SA that has no ID number. Now you need in that case to use a dummy ID number in order to setup your profile.

Renew license not working

I have downloaded the app and used the renew license tab. Paid for service 7 days ago. No one has come back me after my repeated attempts to contact via email and customer complaints. Everyone says it’s the app error and no one can assist. What is the point of an app that takes money and doesn’t deliver a service

It’s really slow. Takes a few minutes to load from the splash screen. Then when browsing my garage for example it keeps loading. Unable to make a service booking.

Since the last update the App is saying “data balance unavailable” under the WiFi section. I know there is still data because the WiFi works in the car.

Not User Griendly

The App works well but the personal info is managed badly.

My vehicles keep disappearing from my profile.

My Name and Surname have been changed without my consent and my profile no belongs to someone I don’t know. No one at Toyota can assist to fix it.

I think it is a POPIA contravention.

I put in my ID and tried to log in to book a service but it got stuck and never progressed from that screen.

It’s a step backward since I now can’t book a service from the website (you’re requested to download the app instead!). Please give us multiple methods for bookings 🙏🏾

Developers have broken the MyToyota app

What have the developers of the new Toyota app version 6.0.0 done? They have totally broken it. Too many bugs to mention here. And annoyingly, you now have to login each and every time you want to use the app by waiting for an OTP. Surely the app doesn’t need to be so secured as with online banking apps? C’mon guys, the previous version was great. Please fix this mess.

I thought this will be another South African typical app that intends well but lets down. I was wrong. This app works, showed me all my historical information simply added by scanning my barcode. Super impressed!!!

Crash When Trying to Add Photo

The app keeps crashing on my iPhone 7 when trying to add a photo of my vehicle in the “My Garage” section. I’ve teied it multiple times and restarted my phone to no avail. Also, it is rediculous that someone can add them as the driver of your vehicle.

Everything you need at your fingertips. No need to phone dealerships or Toyota Finance or go and view your book of life. It’s all right there with an efficient user interface.

Good start, room for improvement

It's a good starting point, I like being able to book services and searchable history of service info and past invoices. Could do with better UI and it's SUPER annoying that you get badge app icon notifications but you can't find what you're being notified of in the app so you don't know how or where to clear the notification. I eventually turned notifications off for the whole app.
