The Letter of Jude E3 — After the letter’s opening appeal, Jude (or Judah) begins warning corrupt members of a Jewish messianic church community who cast off restraint and live openly immoral lives. He does so with an ancient rhetorical technique found in both the Hebrew Bible and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Jude shares three stories of rebellion in the Hebrew Bible: the spies fearful of the promised land in Numbers 13-14, the “sons of God” in Genesis 6, and the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19. Then he draws comparisons to the corrupt church members, promising they’ll receive the same judgment. Why does Jude write this way about the moral crisis in a church? What is he trying to communicate? In this episode, Jon and Tim explore verses 5-8, unpacking the dense biblical references and what they would have meant to Jude and his audience.

True Scholars of the Word

The depth and detail this podcast goes into in terms of breaking down the Word of God, is out of this world. This is what it truly means to read the Word in its context, that is how you see how layered and detailed God is. Wow! You guys are a blessing.

Really encouraging lighthouse in the Body.

So excited that such in depth discussion is happening in the church. I find it so helpful for when I want to cover different sections of the Word while keeping certain themes in mind.

The clarity and cohesion I have been looking for!

After many many years of being very confused by certain verses in the Bible, asking questions and never seeming to get cohesive answers that trace through the entire Bible. I have finally come upon these podcasts that clarify so many of my misconceptions and misunderstandings of scripture simply because I do not have the linguistic background needed to fully understand the original context and intent of the words. I find myself clear on the direction I need to take in my faith and the reason why I am doing it. This has helped me solidify my beliefs and motivated me to dig deeper and practice my faith better. Thank you Jon and Tim for this project which has been such a positive impact on my life.

AMAZING!!!!!!!

The research, perspective, freshness in approaching all Bible topics is amazing and very educational - I even started following Tim’s solo videos... I love how they don’t shy away from hard questions and are not afraid to say when they’re not sure.

So so good

The BibleProject podcast has taught me so much about the Bible. It has given me a lot to think about and some heartfelt revelations. I thank God that this podcast exists and speaks of the good truth.
During this Covid-19 season, I’ve binged so many episodes. My favorite series was about the parables.
Thank you Bible Project 😌 may God continue to bless you 🌸

Ezer

Wow! I stumbled on these podcasts whilst researching the Wisdom Books. And Genesis 2:18 came alive. As a wife, I had always thought the Bible referred to me as an assistant to my husband. The word Ezer, which I heard from the podcasts has been revolutionary to my Christian outlook! Thank you for teaching on it!

Refreshed and informed

I stumbled across the Bible project podcast only recently after many years of watching their videos. The podcast exceeded my expectations. The content is well informed, but more than that it draws you to a deeper appreciation of our God and His magnificent works in creation and redemption.

Now I want to be a Bible Nerd

I’m a 23 year old from South Africa and I started listening to these podcasts while I was busy with chores - long story short I had to stop the chores and REALLY REALLY listen. This content isn’t meant for background listening. Thank you to the team for this dedication, insight and energy that they bring to their projects. You have impacted me greatly and given me an appreciation for the Word of God. I often use your videos in small group with other students and they help spark new discussions. Thank you and may God continue to bless you ❤️

The Bible Project

Greetings from sunny South Africa. The Bible Project is life changing, in a really good way. I have learned so much, and continue to learn every time I listen. I have been a follower of Jesus for years, but this podcast has opened up the Bible in a whole new fascinating way, and is teaching me how to explore the Word of God as a great work of literature. I have always loved reading in general, and now your work is opening up new layers of discovery within this beautiful, sacred text which tugs at my heart, and also encourages me to question, while accepting that “We walk by faith, not by sight”. May you be richly blessed for your generosity in sharing this knowledge.

Best thing that ever happened in our generation

Name: Riaan 'JePro' Davids
Location: Cape Town, South Africa, Africa
When a friend first showed me this, I was dumdfounded! <- is something unique, you see, I am a poet, so my arsenal of words is always loaded... I was so Amazed and in Awe of the gift and talent GOD bestowed upon the team. I love the story telling, the animation, but most IMPORTANTLY, the truth about GOD! I would love to get involve in the future, but for unfortunate reasons, I cannot at this moment.
May the team firstly grow deeper in relationship with GOD, and from that place, may the fellowship with one another grow stronger! And my your talents and gifts just expand more and more, bringing GOD all the GLORY!!!
Thank you for the BLESSINGS that you guys are!!!!

Indispensable

Tim, Jon and The entire Bible project team have become indispensable in my walk of faith. I am so thankful that I joined the Bible project in the early days and I was privileged to witness their development, and what an incredible journey it has been. The knowledge Tim shares is *utterly* amazing, so much so that I am starting to speak like Tim - saying certain words twice, in order to emphasize it(just like the Biblical writers did).
Love you guys

Helpful and valuable

Podcasts are great. Bible Project helps me with understanding the Bible more. I really like the explanations of translations and the value of the meanings. The podcasts summaries a specific topic in the Bible that could have taken me more than a week to study and understand - it definitely makes it easier for understanding.
